May 2026 Newsletter
The latest edition of the Little Shop of Physics newsletter is here and we are celebrating another incredible semester of hands-on science, community partnerships, and curiosity-driven learning! Highlights include:
- Our 32nd Annual Open House, where nearly 8,000 visitors explored more than 300 hands-on experiments alongside presentations, community partners, and interactive science experiences across CSU’s Lory Student Center.
- Quantum Matter You Can Touch, a new collaboration with the American Physical Society and CSU Physics Professor Yulia Maximenko that transforms condensed matter physics concepts into engaging hands-on activities.
- Spring break outreach in New Mexico, where LSOP interns shared nearly 100 experiments with students at Spartan Learning Academy, Native American Community Academy, and partner programs in Albuquerque and Bernalillo.
- School visits, engagement spaces, and community events across Colorado, including collaborations with OtterCares, the Colorado Science Fair, Temple Grandin, and science nights throughout the region.
- Reflections from interns and alumni, including stories from Summer Turner and Bryan Stanley about how LSOP helped shape their passions, careers, and sense of community.
- A summer bubble recipe postcard designed by intern Summer Turner, bringing a little science, color, and joy into the warmer months.
- Celebrating our graduating interns and looking ahead to upcoming events, including CSU Spur programs, Neutrino Day, and the 33rd Annual Open House on March 7, 2027.
