LSOP in Action: Neutrino Day, 2025
We were thrilled to return to the annual Neutrino Day Festival in Lead, SD, and to share a full day of hands-on science with visitors of all ages! Neutrino Day is a free, public celebration of science hosted each summer by Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF), featuring demos, talks, tours, and community activities centered around the amazing research happening deep underground.
This year — the 17th annual Neutrino Day — our team brought a brand-new collection of interactive experiments: color, light, motion, magnetism, and more. We spent the day exploring science with thousands of curious learners. It’s one of our favorite outreach events of the year and is only a short drive from Fort Collins.
Our amazing videographer, Patrick put together this video showcasing highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and lots of joyful science discovery. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed being there.
We’re looking forward to Neutrino Day 2026! Learn more at: https://neutrinoday.com/
