LSOP in Action: Whitehorse Jr/Sr High School
In March 2025, the Little Shop of Physics team traveled to Whitehorse Jr/Sr High School in Montezuma Creek, Utah—located on the Navajo Nation—for an incredible day of hands-on science exploration with middle and high school students.
We connected with 303 students through interactive experiments that brought science to life—exploring everything from light and color to motion, energy, and magnetism. The energy and curiosity from students filled the gym as they discovered new ways to see and understand the world around them.
This visit was part of our ongoing commitment to make science accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant for all communities. Our team of undergraduate interns brought creativity and enthusiasm to every interaction, turning questions into discoveries and sparking a genuine sense of wonder.
For many of our student interns, this was their first experience traveling on outreach beyond campus—a chance to grow as educators and as individuals while connecting deeply with the community.
