What You’ll Need:
- Clear plastic
- Scissors
- Tape
- A template (four identical trapezoids)
- A smartphone or tablet with a video
What To Do:
- Trace and cut out four identical trapezoids from the clear plastic.
- Tape them together to form a pyramid that’s open at the top and bottom.
- Place the pyramid on top of your smartphone screen, playing a compatible video.
- Turn down the lights and view the illusion from the side—adjust your angle to get the best effect. You’ll see a floating, ghost-like image that appears to hover inside the pyramid.
This simple setup mimics a famous theatrical trick that dates back to the 1800s—and it’s a fun way to explore how light travels and reflects.
