In January, 2016, the Little Shop team went to Namibia to present workshops to 100 K-12 educators and 200 K-12 students. We also set up a series of science stations and activities at the B2Gold Education Center.

Here is a video that captures the spirit of our teacher workshops. The process—open, including, engaging—was as important as the information we shared. Our plan was to show a model for how science instruction could be.

Our “kid camps” were equally engaging.

In 2017, we are working with B2Gold to bring science educators from the Ministry of Education and the University of Namibia to discuss how to make changes that are more systemic.

We also have plans to take a group of CSU students to Namibia, though there are some hurdles to overcome.
