In the Physics Teaching Labs @ CSU

 In Little Shop News

Every year at the end of the tour we come back to Colorado State University and set up in the physics teaching labs for two weeks. The first week is for the CSU students. All who are enrolled in Physics 111, 121, 122, 141 and 142 get to experience Little Shop of Physics as their last college laboratory of the semester. Our unique hands-on approach to science helps students to apply the concepts learned over the semester to various new situations, which helps students review for their final exam.

The following week, we have groups visit CSU and come experience the Little Shop of Physics in the teaching labs. Some schools choose to combine this with a campus tour, and for many of the students it is their first time on a college campus! LSOP crew along with physics student volunteers (who experienced LSOP in the labs only the previous week) act as facilitators for these visiting groups of students.

These students leave having had a positive experience with science and an introduction to college. It’s an great tradition and a fun way to close out the tour. Get Your Science on has been an awesome tour, and we’re excitedly looking to next year!
